Varanasi: Minister Omprakash Rajbhar on Friday said that the ongoing tension between the US, Israel and Iran has impacted international oil supply, leading to a temporary problem. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working on a war footing and holding talks to deal with the situation. After holding a Janata Darbar at Atraulia, Azamgarh, Rajbhar told reporters that when big countries get embroiled in conflicts, it affects other nations as well. “Ships carrying oil for India have already set sail and supply will normalise soon,” he added. He appealed to the public not to panic and hoard oil. “Oil will be made available to everyone in adequate quantities; only a little patience is needed,” he said. The minister also appealed to petrol pump operators not to put up ‘no stock’ boards without solid reasons, as it creates unnecessary rumours and crowding. Reacting to a post by Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav regarding mud stoves, Rajbhar termed it a blatant lie. He said if an investigation is conducted, 10 cylinders will be found in his house. He said the opposition is trying to mislead the public. “Those who have no shortage of gas cylinders in their homes are spreading confusion,” he taunted. The minister dismissed the allegations that the govt is deliberately creating a shortage. He said the govt’s objective is to provide relief to the common people, not to create a crisis.
