Srinagar, Sep 16: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday clarified that recent remarks by its Bandipora district president Syed Sajad Hussain on the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) were made in his personal capacity and do not represent the party’s official position.
PDP General Secretary (Organisation) Advocate Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura said Hussain was not an authorised spokesperson of the party and that his comments on the TET issue should not be attributed to the organisation.
Hanjura said the remarks were not in accordance with the party line and stressed that statements made by individual leaders without authorisation should not be treated as the PDP’s official stand.
He said the clarification was issued to avoid confusion over the party’s position on the issue.
