Raichur: Crores of rupees were deposited in the donation box of the Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt at Mantralaya in Andhra Pradesh, located on the Raichur border, reflecting the continued devotion of pilgrims visiting the temple town.According to mutt manager SK Srinivas Rao, the hundi was opened and counted on Tuesday. In a span of 21 days, the mutt received Rs 3,08,37,572 in cash, along with 13g of gold and 1,018g of silver.
In a statement, he said the total cash collection comprised Rs 2,98,13,571 in currency notes and Rs 10,24,000 in coins. The counting process was carried out in the presence of officials, with the participation of hundreds of mutt staff members, members of bhajan mandalis, and volunteers to ensure transparency.The Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt attracts devotees from across the country, particularly from Karnataka and neighbouring states. In recent weeks, the temple witnessed a steady rise in footfall, contributing to the substantial offerings received in the hundi.Temple authorities noted that a similar record collection was registered in Dec 2025. During that period, within just 20 days, devotees donated Rs 3,62,69,247 in currency notes and Rs 10,97,340 in coins, along with 87g of gold and 910g of silver.The consistent high collections underline the faith reposed by devotees in the shrine, and the growing number of pilgrims visiting Mantralaya for darshan.
