Nagpur: Over 15,000 workers from across Vidarbha are set to organise a massive Shramik Aakrosh Rally on April 8. Organized by the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), the demonstration aims to break a prolonged deadlock between state departments and employees over years of unresolved grievances. Protesters from all 11 districts will assemble at Yashwant Stadium at 11am for a march to the Samvidhan Chawk. A memorandum of demands will be forwarded to the govt.Led by BMS national president S Mallesham, the rally’s primary demands include job security for contractual workers, regularization of Metro Rail and Class IV medical staff, and fair wages for Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal employees. Labor leaders are also pushing for reinstatement of terminated Orange City Water (OCW) workers, a five-day work week for banks, and increased pensions under EPS-95 scheme. BMS alleges a lack of departmental cooperation in implementing benefits like HRA for Aapli Bus staff and revised pensions for electricity workers. Reporting by Gouri Gokhale
