Amravati: Varsha Laddha (IAS) took over as the new Commissioner of Amravati Municipal Corporation on Monday. She succeeded Soumya Sharma Chandak, who handed over the charge formally. Laddha expressed her commitment to the city’s holistic and sustainable development.Laddha, previously served as member secretary at Maharashtra Agricultural Research and Education Council, Pune. She assured to give a new direction to Amravati’s development and accelerate ongoing projects. She thanked outgoing commissioner Chandak for her contributions.Chandak appreciated the cooperation of officials and staff, emphasising the need for teamwork to enhance the corporation’s image. She expressed confidence that ongoing projects would reach completion under Laddha’s leadership. The event was attended by officials, including Akola SP Archit Chandak, additional commissioner Mahesh Deshmukh, and other senior officials. Chandak was felicitated for her service, and Laddha was welcomed to her new role.
