Nagpur: Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for President Droupadi Murmu’s two-day Nagpur visit beginning Wednesday.Around 1,500 police personnel will be deployed across key venues, including seven deputy commissioners of police, 12 assistant commissioners, 44 police inspectors, and 151 assistant police inspectors and sub-inspectors. The deployment also includes 450 traffic personnel and four teams each of anti-riot and rapid action forces.District collector Kumar Ashirwad and joint commissioner of police Navinchandra Reddy reviewed the arrangements during inspections of the venues. Police also conducted a full-scale security rehearsal on Tuesday.Murmu will attend the convocation ceremony of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur at 11am on April 15. She is also scheduled to visit the National Academy of Direct Taxes in the evening.The President will stay overnight at Lok Bhavan before travelling to Sevagram Ashram on Thursday. She will also attend the convocation ceremony of Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya.
