Sasaram: A co-driver was killed and three others, including two police personnel, were injured after a speeding trailer rammed into a stationary dumper on NH-19 near the gate of Maharana Pratap College in Mohania early Wednesday morning.The accident occurred around 4am when a trailer carrying stone chips from Jharkhand to Rajasthan rammed into a sand-laden dumper stranded on the highway. The impact mangled the front portion of the trailer, trapping the co-driver inside the cabin. He died on the spot due to severe injuries.The deceased was identified as Akhtar, a resident of Bikaner, Rajasthan. The injured driver, Vikram Singh (25), also from Bikaner, is undergoing treatment.Police said the dumper had earlier hit an unidentified truck and was left on the road. The dumper driver allegedly alerted Dial-112 and fled. A police team present at the spot when the trailer crashed sustained injuries. The injured police personnel were treated at the sub-divisional hospital in Mohania.NHAI officials later cleared the damaged vehicles using a crane. Traffic was temporarily disrupted but restored soon after.
