Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s standing committee on Wednesday approved opening two new yellow fever vaccination centres in the city’s eastern and western zones to ease pressure on the existing facility at Arogya Bhavan near Gita Mandir ST Stand in Jamalpur. Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for Ahmedabad residents travelling to Africa or Gulf countries. The Jamalpur centre has been handling heavy footfall, with 9,900 people vaccinated in 2025. The committee also cleared a cashless treatment facility at SVP Hospital for AMC employees and pensioners. The benefit will cover 24,093 employees and 17,000 pensioners.
