Srinagar, 27 Sep : A delegation from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar participated in Indian Youth Parliament 2026, held in Jaipur from 3rd week of September, providing students an opportunity to engage in discussions on youth leadership, democracy, parliamentary dialogue and nation-building.
The delegation was accompanied by Faculty In-Charge Dr. Ashok Kumar and comprised students Abhiraj Das, Janvi Sharma, Lucky, Khushi Arora, Arnav Pal, Shashwat Shandilya, and Muhammad Husaaini.
During the three-day programme, the NIT Srinagar students interacted and exchanged ideas with more than 500 delegates representing 26 states across India.
The event provided a platform for young participants to deliberate on contemporary issues, share diverse perspectives and develop a deeper understanding of democratic processes and civic engagement.
The participation also enabled the students to experience parliamentary-style dialogue and interact with fellow young leaders from different parts of the country. Through discussions and exchanges, the delegation gained exposure to diverse viewpoints while representing NIT Srinagar at a national-level youth platform.
The visit was aimed at encouraging students to look beyond conventional classroom learning and engage with wider national conversations on leadership, democracy and the role of youth in nation-building.
The Institute appreciated the participation of its students and faculty members in the Indian Youth Parliament 2026, describing such engagements as valuable opportunities for students to broaden their perspectives, build leadership skills and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s youth discourse.
