Chandigarh: The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has issued notices to top Punjab officials, including the chief secretary, DGP, Sangrur deputy commissioner, and SSP, demanding an action-taken report within five days regarding the death of Sangrur resident Gulzar Singh.The commission intervened following a formal complaint filed by Punjab BJP SC Morcha president and former MLA Sheetal Angural, who demanded an impartial investigation into the allegations surrounding Singh’s death.Angural noted that the NCSC initiated the inquiry utilising its constitutional powers under Article 338. He urged the Punjab govt and municipal officials to fully comply with the directives and submit a comprehensive report within the timeframe.“I will continue raising the matter until justice is delivered to the family,” Angural said, calling for a fair and transparent investigation.
