Hisar: A man preparing momos on the rooftop of his house in Fatehabad suffered a serious injury after a monkey suddenly attacked him and bit off part of his ear on Sunday evening. The severed portion fell to the ground as the man cried out for help.Vinod Soni, a resident of Ward 3, was rushed by his family to the civil hospital in a blood-soaked condition. After providing first aid, doctors referred him to Agroha Medical College. Doctors there told him that the severed portion of his ear could not be reattached. However, doctors administered 15 stitches to close the wound and later discharged him.Soni, who is involved with the fast-food business, said he was getting ready to prepare momos on the terrace when the incident occurred. He said a group of monkeys was bathing in a water tank on the roof of a neighbouring house. “While I was busy with my work, I did not notice the monkey approaching. It suddenly pounced on my face and bit my ear. I picked up a utensil and threw it towards the monkey, after which it fled,” Soni added.He suffered significant blood loss in the attack and was taken to hospital immediately.Ward 3 councillor Surender Deegwal said locals informed him about the incident. I helped arrange medical care for Soni, he added. The municipal council was subsequently alerted, and a team reached the ward and caught the monkeys.
