Dimapur: Nagaland deputy chief minister Y Patton on Friday condemned the recent racial and physical assault on a young doctor from Nagaland in Gorakhpur and the racial abuse and intimidation of three women from Arunachal Pradesh in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar.In a release, Patton said such incidents are not isolated, but part of a recurring pattern of racial discrimination, harassment, and violence faced by people from the northeast in different parts of the country. He said these repeated acts of prejudice and aggression reflect a deeply troubling reality that must be confronted with honesty and decisive action.

“Racism and violence in any form are intolerable and must be dealt with through the strictest measures,” Patton said.
