Hyderabad: A BMW car caught fire while in motion near the Begumpet metro station on Tuesday night, briefly disrupting traffic in the area.According to officials, the vehicle was travelling from Warangal to Manikonda when smoke began emanating from the engine. Acting swiftly, the driver pulled over to the roadside, allowing all three occupants to exit safely, averting any injuries.Fire personnel from the Snorkel fire station rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. “By the time the fire was extinguished, nearly 75% of the vehicle was gutted. We suspect the fire may have been caused by an internal short circuit,” a fire official said.Traffic movement on the busy stretch was temporarily affected during the emergency response. The charred vehicle was later removed with the help of a crane.No injuries were reported, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
