Kanpur: The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and the Power Foundation of India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the PFI Distinguished Chair Professorship on Power Sector Regulation and Policy at IIT-K.The initiative aims to recognise and promote excellence in teaching, research, and leadership in power sector regulation and policy, while fostering deeper engagement among academia, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.The MoU was signed by Anshuman Srivastava, executive director, PFI, and Prof Raja Angamuthu, associate dean (Research & Development) and currently acting dean, Dean of Resources & Alumni, IIT Kanpur. Himanshu Chawla, head regulatory & research, PFI, and Nidhi Varma, assistant registrar, office of dean resources & alumni, witnessed the signing. Prof Raja Angamuthu highlighted that the MoU will further strengthen the institute’s engagement in the energy domain. tnn
