Namakkal: A woman collapsed and died on Saturday after she was informed that her son died in a road accident near Kumarapalayam, in Namakkal district, the previous night.Police said a man died on the spot in an accident in Bhavani, in Erode district on Friday night. They used the two-wheeler’s licence plate number to identify him. He was subsequently identified as V Mahalingam, from East Kaveri Nagar near Kumarapalayam in Namakkal district, who ran a medical store in the area. When police informed his family on Saturday, his mother, Subbulakshmi, suddenly suffered a heart attack and died. A case has been registered.
