One official resolution and two private members’ resolutions were adopted, while one private resolution was rejected. The session also witnessed heated exchanges between the ruling Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) and the opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) over a controversial land deal at Lengpui village council area near Aizawl. The land, acquired by the state govt for the establishment of a Maritime Patrol Radar (MPR) by the Indian Air Force, became the subject of sharp allegations.MNF members accused the govt of procedural lapses and alleged payoffs, kickbacks, and money laundering involving compensation of over Rs 117.90 crore, which they claimed was disbursed to a middleman with no ownership of the land. The ruling ZPM countered, arguing that the deal had already been finalised during the MNF’s tenure.
