T’puram: Passengers are inconvenienced by station redevelopment work at Thiruvananthapuram Central as railways have not put boards about closed facilities.A foot over bridge is closed at Nagercoil-end of the station, but no warning board is placed. People walk all the way to the stairs to find out it is closed.Sources said that lack of boards is causing an inconvenience and people have to stumble their way along the station as there are no boards available to guide the people.Prabhakar V, who arrived by train from Chennai, said that it was an issue because he had to walk all the way to the foot overbridge on to the nagercoil-end of the station only to realize it is closed. “The railways should put up a warning board saying the foot overbridge is not working,” he said.In addition to this, seepage from construction sites at the platforms is also causing a hassle. Construction barricades are not foolproof as sludge is seeping into the already narrowed platform. The railway authorities have said that barricades have been installed. The railways is taking up Rs 450 crore station redevelopment work at Thiruvananthapouram and has already completed construction of a terminal for passengers.
