The committee will review KIIFB’s institutional, financial, governance and operational framework before submitting a restructuring plan within three months

T’puram: State govt constituted a high-level expert committee to recommend a comprehensive restructuring of Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB), focusing on strengthening its long-term sustainability, improving governance standards and enhancing its capacity to finance infrastructure projects. The committee will review KIIFB’s institutional, financial, governance and operational framework before submitting a restructuring plan within three months.The panel will be chaired by retired IAS officer Sudha Pillai. The other panel members are former Federal Bank MD and CEO Shyam Srinivasan, former Association of Chartered Accountants of India chairman and partner at KKC & Associates Nilesh Vikamsey, former director of CAG’s audit board H Shubhalakshmi Narayanan and former Union revenue secretary Tarun Bajaj. The order said the decision aims to strengthen KIIFB’s institutional framework and improve its effectiveness in supporting the state’s infrastructure development.To support the committee’s work, govt also constituted an internal coordination and secretariat mechanism headed by additional chief secretary (finance) K R Jyothilal. The members include transport secretary Anupama TV, officer on special duty (finance) Sachin Kumar Yadav and CM’s additional private secretary Thilakan KPK. The additional chief secretary can draw officers and supporting staff from finance department and the planning board to provide research, analytical, financial, technical and secretarial assistance to the committee.The panel may also seek assistance from CDS, GIFT and other institutions or subject experts as required. Finance department will provide office space, logistics, secretarial and administrative support to the committee, while existing norms will govern the remuneration and sitting fees of the chairperson and members.
