Belagavi: Public works minister Satish Jarkiholi laid the foundation stone for the construction of a police station at Kakati under the jurisdiction of Belagavi Police Commissionerate on Monday. The minister also installed the new CCTV system at the police station and inaugurated a new bus shelter in Kakati.For the first time under the Smart City project, works were undertaken in Kakati village with a grant of Rs 2 crore. Two drinking water units, a smart bus shelter, roads in Kakati village, drainage and 27 street light units, along with 24 CCTV surveillance systems were installed.Belagavi urban development authority chairman Laxmanrao Chingale and Belagavi city police commissioner Bhorase Bhushan Gulab Rao were present.
