Kolkata: Bengal govt will now allow cashless facility in cases of hospital indoor treatment to go beyond Rs 2 lakh for pensioners. State has asked pensioners or their representatives to inform the finance department when the cost exceeds the ceiling limit of Rs 2 lakh. As of now, only current employees are allowed to avail treatment facilities beyond Rs 2 lakh.A finance department order said that upon admission at a private hospital, the pensioner or their family have to seek an estimated cost for the next 10 days. Upon receiving an application from the pensioner, finance department will clear it within 24 hours. The hospital also has to submit a prognosis report.
