Mangaluru: Road repair work on NH 169 near Machoor Cross at Edapadavu in Bajpe will require temporary traffic diversions between Mangaluru and Moodubidire for 30 days.Mangaluru city police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has taken up repairs near Machoor Cross after cracks developed and the road began deteriorating due to heavy vehicular movement. The work will be carried out from Feb 12 to March 13 to ensure smooth traffic flow. During this period, in the interest of public safety, vehicles travelling between Mangaluru and Moodubidire should use alternative routes.

Trucks travelling from Moodubidire to Mangaluru should turn right at Vidyagiri Mulki Cross, proceed via Kinnigoli Road, turn right at Pakshikere Cross, and travel via Mulki Junction–Surathkal to Mangaluru. Trucks travelling from Mangaluru towards Moodubidire should take the same diversion.Light motor vehicles from Moodubidire towards Mangaluru should turn right at Vidyagiri Mulki Cross, proceed via Kinnigoli Road, and either travel via Moorkaveri–Kateel–Permude–Bajpe, or turn left at Pakshikere Cross and proceed via Haleangadi–Surathkal to Mangaluru.Buses and other light vehicles may turn right at Daddi Cross, proceed via Pumarpadavu Cross–Manjanakatte Cross–Arjunakodi–Eshwarakatte Cross, turn right at Machoor Cross, and travel via Kaikamba–Gurupura towards Mangaluru.Trucks from Mangaluru to Karkala should travel via NH 66 through Surathkal–Mulki–Padubidri and proceed towards Karkala.
