Mangaluru: A 19-year-old college student allegedly stabbed a minor classmate with a penknife following a quarrel at a private college under Vittal police station limits Wednesday.According to police, a quarrel broke out between classmates Hemanth and a minor student. The two, who were friends, reportedly got into an argument that escalated into a fight. During the incident, Hemanth allegedly stabbed the minor student in the back with a penknife he had in his possession. The injured student was admitted to a hospital and was reported to be out of danger. Police took Hemanth into custody.
Another minor student who attempted to intervene and stop the fight sustained minor injuries.A case was registered at Vittal police station under Sections 115(1), 352, 109 and 118(1) of BNS, and further legal action is being taken, police said.
