Etawah: The bodies of a young man and a woman found along a railway track near Sarai Bhopat railway station in Etawah district on July 24 have been identified.The man, aged 22, and the woman, aged 18, were residents of Aswa village under Jigna police station in Mirzapur.According to police, the two, missing since July 8, had allegedly eloped to Rewari in Haryana a few days earlier. Their family members later traced them and were returning with them on the Prayagraj Express. Police said the duo allegedly jumped from the moving train and died.The woman’s father told police that when the train reached Kanpur, fellow passengers informed them that the woman had allegedly jumped from the moving train first at around 2.30am, followed by the man.GRP station in charge Jitendra Kumar said the bodies had been sent for postmortem examination and a thorough investigation was underway to ascertain the sequence of events based on the family’s statements and other evidence.
