Kanpur: A pickup driver hired through an online platform allegedly fled with goods worth several lakhs in the Sachendi police station area of Kanpur, police said.According to the complaint, the victim, Ashutosh Dwivedi said that he operated a transport business, and hired a man named, Vivek through an online platform to manage his pickup vehicle for transporting goods.He said that on July 19, he sent his driver, Vivek, with a goods consignment for delivery in Mahoba. However, the driver failed to reach the destination, and his phone was also found to be switched off.Police conducted a thorough search, and later was informed by the Prayagraj police that a pickup vehicle had been discovered abandoned near the Baba Chauraha in the Cantonment police station area.Upon inspection of the vehicle, it was found that all the goods it carried were missing. DCP West S M Qasim Abidi said that a report has been filed based on the complaint.He added that the search for the accused driver is underway, and he will be apprehended shortly.
