Etawah: Police on Saturday arrested a 30-year-old man, identified as Abhishek Singh, the main accused in a case related to the alleged abetment of a makeup artist’s suicide. The woman had died by suicide at her home on July 21.The woman’s husband had lodged an FIR against four people for allegedly abetting her suicide.According to the complaint, the accused — Abhishek Singh, Shabina Khan, Rubina and Ritesh — were former acquaintances of the woman and had allegedly been mentally harassing her for a long time.They allegedly blackmailed her and threatened to disclose details of her past to her in-laws. Before ending her life, the woman recorded a video in which she named the four accused and accused them of mentally harassing her.

Police seized the video and other evidence and registered a case of abetment to suicide.SHO K.K. Mishra said the main accused was produced before a court and sent to jail. He added that three other accused, including two women, remain absconding and police teams have been formed to arrest them.
