Patna: A 55-year-old man was shot dead in Mahila village under Kurhani police station area in Kaimur district on Sunday. The victim, Vishnu Kant Mishra, was escorting his wife to an auto as she was heading to her parents’ home for her father’s ‘shraddh’ ceremony when he was allegedly shot multiple times by a villager, Amit Kumar Dubey. Mishra died on the spot. Police sent the body to Bhabhua Sadar Hospital for the postmortem and launched an investigation. Mohania DSP Pradeep Kumar said the motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained and efforts are underway to arrest the accused.
