Ludhiana: Police have booked a tipper truck driver for causing death by negligence after he allegedly ran over a man, killing him on the spot, in Dehlon area. Another person was seriously injured in the incident. The accused has been identified as Yadvinder Singh, a resident of Mallawala village in Ferozepur district. The deceased was identified as Sukhbir Singh of Lehra village. Ranjit Singh, father of the deceased, said he and his son had come to Dehlon on a scooter, when they saw an acquaintance in a car. He said Sukhbir parked the scooter on the roadside and began talking to the acquaintance, Pawandeep. Suddenly, he said a speeding tipper truck allegedly rammed into both the parked scooter and the car. The truck ran over Sukhbir Singh, killing him on the spot. Pawandeep Singh sustained serious injuries. The car and scooter were also badly damaged. Locals gathered at the spot and informed the police. A case has been registered and the truck driver has been arrested. The truck has also been seized.
