Lucknow: A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping an 11-year-old boy to force his mother to marry him, police said on Tuesday. The boy was rescued within six hours of kidnapping.According to DCP, North, Amit K Anand, the accused, Ajay Yadav, got acquainted with a 35-year-old woman through Instagram. Over time, he started forcing the woman to marry him and threatened her when she refused.“During the wee hours of Monday, the woman approached police alleging that the accused had kidnapped her 11-year-old son. Fearing for the child’s safety, she sought immediate police intervention,” the DCP said.Police registered an FIR under Sections 351(2) and 140(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the accused.A joint team of Madiaon police and the DCP North surveillance and crime branch launched a search operation and rescued the boy within six hours from Bahraich district and arrested the accused.The accused will be produced before the court after completion of legal formalities.
