Lucknow: The state govt on Tuesday approved the formation of the Prayagraj–Chitrakoot Regional Development Authority to accelerate development in Prayagraj, Chitrakoot and neighbouring districts. The proposed development region will cover Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Banda, Kaushambi and Hamirpur. The authority will become operational after an official govt notification, expected within the next few days.Officials said the authority is intended to ensure planned and integrated development across the region, supporting coordinated urbanisation and faster infrastructure expansion. The initiative is expected to improve access to civic services and infrastructure facilities, promote balanced regional growth and create avenues for private investment and employment generation. The govt said the decision would not place any additional financial burden on the state exchequer.
