Patna: A 25-year-old man allegedly abducted near Patna Junction earlier this week was found murdered on Saturday with his family claiming he was targeted for opposing a sex racket in the Jakkanpur area. Police, however, said all possible angles were being investigated.The decomposed body of Bunty Kumar, a resident of Jakkanpur who had been missing since Monday night, was recovered from the Athmalgola police station area on the outskirts of Patna.Athmalgola SHO Rahul Kumar Navneet said Bunty’s relatives had identified the body, while Barh SDPO-I Ramkrishna said a ‘kada’ found on the victim’s wrist helped establish his identity. ASP (law and order-I) Krishna Murari Prasad, however, said scientific confirmation was still awaited because of the advanced stage of decomposition.According to the family, Bunty was abducted from Doodh Market in New Karbigahia near Patna Junction on Monday night while buying curd. CCTV footage purportedly showed a group of men assaulting him and forcing him into a black SUV.So far, police have arrested three people, including Rohit Kumar, who is accused of participating in the kidnapping. Investigators are probing whether Bunty’s earlier dispute with locals or the family’s allegation that he had opposed activities linked to a sex racket was behind the murder.
