Vadodara: A 33-year-old man undergoing treatment at the state-run Sir Sayajirao General (SSG) Hospital allegedly attempted suicide for the second time in a day by jumping from the fourth floor of the hospital building, seriously injuring himself and an ambulance driver standing below.The man, identified as Hitesh Rohit, a resident of Shastrinagar in Kishanwadi, was brought to the hospital by his wife on Friday morning after he slit his wrist with a blade at home.While receiving treatment in the emergency department, Hitesh made his way to the fourth floor of the hospital and jumped off. He landed on ambulance driver Pritesh, who was standing below, leaving both men seriously injured.Hitesh sustained multiple injuries, including a fractured leg, while Pritesh suffered severe back injuries and fractures to his vertebrae. Pritesh is currently undergoing treatment.According to family members, Hitesh had been behaving unusually for the past two days. He had told them that he did not want to return home. The family said there had been no dispute or quarrel at home before the incident.Hitesh is married and has a daughter. He was unemployed, according to his family.The circumstances behind his repeated suicide attempts remain unclear. Raopura police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
