Thiruvananthapuram: Vizhinjam police arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly trespassing into a house and harassing a young woman in Kidarakuzhi, Chidiyil.The accused has been identified as Nikha, a native of Kalliyoor, Vizhinjam. According to police, the accused unlawfully entered the residence on Saturday and approached the woman with a proposal, causing panic among family members. The incident created a tense situation in the neighbourhood, following which the family alerted police. Officers reached the spot and took the accused into custody. During preliminary inquiry, police said Nikha was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Locals also informed police that he was heavily drunk and behaving in an erratic manner. A case was registered against the accused for trespassing and harassment. Police said further investigation is under way, and statements from witnesses and the family are being recorded.
