T’puram: A 32-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband following a family dispute at Vlathankara near Parassala on Sunday. The accused later surrendered before police.The deceased was identified as Alma of Vlathankara. Her husband, Vishnu Nath V S, 36, surrendered before Parassala police and confessed to the crime. According to police, the couple had been married for nine years and had no children. Frequent quarrels between the two over personal issues are suspected to have led to the murder. Police sources said the incident occurred in the morning following an argument. In a fit of rage, Nath allegedly attacked Alma with a knife, slashing her neck and stabbing her behind the ear inside their bedroom. “The victim sustained deep-cut injuries to the neck and behind the ear. There was profuse bleeding and the entire bedroom floor was soaked in blood. Preliminary findings indicate that the attack was carried out using a sharp weapon following a domestic dispute. A detailed forensic examination was conducted and further investigation is under way,” a police source said. After committing the crime, the accused reportedly went to his brother’s house nearby around 10am and informed him about the murder. The brother then alerted the police. Police soon reached the house and found Alma dead in the bedroom. Fingerprint experts and a forensic team conducted a detailed examination at the scene. The body was later shifted to Govt Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram, for postmortem examination. The accused is reportedly working as an English teacher at a PSC coaching centre in Neyyattinkara.
