Kanpur: A 27-year-old man allegedly hanged himself from the side grill of the foot overbridge at the Virangana Laxmibai Jhansi railway station on Saturday afternoon.According to eyewitnesses, the man used a nylon rope to hang himself from the grill near the staircase leading to Platforms 2 and 3.On receiving information, personnel from the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) and railway authorities rushed to the spot. The body was brought down and later sent for postmortem.According to SP (GRP) Vipul Srivastava, an Aadhaar card recovered from the deceased identified him as Ritesh Kumar, 27, son of Gokul Singh and a resident of Laxmanpur village under Anupshahar police station limits in Bulandshahr district.“We have contacted the family members of the deceased through the address mentioned on his Aadhaar card for further details,” the SP (GRP) said.
