Gurgaon: A 34-year-old man was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his room in Manesar on Monday, in an alleged case of suicide due to depression.Manoj Kumar, who worked at McDonald’s in Manesar, is survived by his parents, wife and two children, aged 5 and 8.According to his family, he was battling depression after his younger brother died in an accident in Farukhnagar. He was undergoing treatment and was on medication. According to cops, while his parents were out in the fields, his wife went out to serve them tea. After she returned at 4pm, she found the bedroom locked from the inside. When Manoj didn’t respond to her calls for a long time and did not open the door, she raised an alarm.Family members broke open the door and entered the room, only to find Manoj hanging from a ceiling fan. Cops were informed and he was rushed to the local civil hospital but was declared dead. The body was handed over to the family post-autopsy on Tuesday.Cops said no suicide note was found at the spot. An investigation has been initiated to find the circumstances of his death. A cousin said that Manoj had been depressed for the past three years due to the death of his younger brother and was deliberately skipping medication which had worsened his condition.“He should have given a thought about his family, and especially the two kids. Manoj used to earn around Rs 20,000, but now the family will have to face financial brunt,” a relative said.
