Gurgaon experienced light afternoon rain on Monday following a cloudy and breezy start, with temperatures dropping to 19°C

GURGAON: After a cloudy and breezy start to Monday, parts of the city received light rain in the afternoon. The minimum temperature was 19°C, down from 21.2°C a day earlier at Gurgaon KVK and the maximum was 33.7°C, down from 35°C. At the NorthCap University monitoring station, the minimum temperature was 20.9°C and the maximum reached 34.6°C.According to the IMD, the prevailing weather conditions are due to a western disturbance persisting as an upper air cyclonic circulation over north Iran and the adjoining Caspian Sea. An induced cyclonic circulation has also shifted from northwest Rajasthan to Punjab and adjoining Haryana, leading to cloud formation and light rain.The weather is likely to remain dry over the next two to three days. Another spell of rain may begin towards the weekend, as a fresh western disturbance is expected to affect the region from April 2.“There will be a gradual rise of 3 to 5°C in temperatures over the next few days, followed by a fall of 3 to 5°C from April 4 onwards,” the IMD said.Across Haryana, the average maximum temperature saw a marginal dip of 0.1°C from the previous day and remained near normal. The highest maximum temperature in the state was 35.3°C in Nuh.The average minimum temperature fell by 0.5°C but remained above normal by 3.2°C. The lowest minimum temperature of 18°C was recorded in Narnaul and Bhiwani.For Tuesday, the IMD has forecast a partly cloudy sky in the city, with the minimum and maximum temperatures likely to be around 20°C and 34°C respectively.
