GURGAON: After a consignment containing mobile phones worth Rs 9 lakh went missing from a logistics hub of Instakart Services Private Limited, which operates under the E-Kart logistics brand at Binola, a case was filed against four persons, including two ex-employees.According to company official Ritindeep (32), a consignment arriving from Farrukhabad was being processed at the hub when a high-value box containing mobile phones worth Rs 9 lakh was found missing during unloading.Upon reviewing CCTV footage, officials found four people—Haricharan, Sandeep, Arun and Nitin, allegedly carrying the missing box through the facility and exiting via a lift.On March 18, the company’s security team spotted one of the accused inside the hub carrying another box. When questioned, the remaining accused attempted to flee but were apprehended outside the premises and ten mobile phones were found in their possession. As per the complaint, the suspects entered the hub multiple times through a backdoor with no security deployment and allegedly stole mobile phones on several occasions and also kept additional stolen devices at their houses.Ritindeep said the accused exploited the large workforce at the facility—around 1,000 employees per shift—to avoid being caught.Meanwhile, cops said that the suspects, which includes ex-employees, still possessed their company’s identity card and thus got easy access in the company, while others scaled walls.A case has been registered under Section 305 (theft in a dwelling house) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Bilaspur SHO said they are verifying the CCTV footages provided by the company and arrests would be made in the case following an investigation.
