Kendrapada: Police on Friday arrested a 46-year-old man for allegedly raping his seven-year-old niece at a village in Kendrapada district on Thursday evening. The minor girl is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital. According to police, the incident occurred when the girl was alone. The accused allegedly raped her and threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident to anyone.The girl later informed her parents about the incident. Following this, her mother lodged an FIR at the police station on Friday, alleging that the accused, who is the elder brother of her husband, had raped her minor daughter. The accused was produced in a Kendrapada court on Friday. The court rejected his bail plea and remanded him in judicial custody, police said.
