Jaipur: Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) has appointed Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh as its new Chairperson, succeeding S. Vaitheeswaran.
The appointment marks a leadership transition at the university as it continues to expand its academic and research initiatives.
Lt Gen (Dr) Venkatesh brings more than four decades of experience in higher education, healthcare, military medicine, research and institutional governance. He previously served as Vice-Chancellor of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and Sikkim Manipal University. He is currently an Advisor to the Manipal Education and Medical Group.
In his new role, he will provide strategic leadership for Manipal University Jaipur, with a focus on strengthening academic quality, research, innovation and global engagement.
Welcoming the appointment, MUJ President Prof. (Dr.) N. N. Sharma said the university looked forward to benefiting from Lt Gen (Dr.) Venkatesh’s academic and administrative experience as it pursues its long-term institutional goals.
