Patna: The state govt has notified the Draft Development Plan-2047 for the proposed Pataliputra Greenfield Satellite Township, paving the way for planned urban development and lifting restrictions on the sale, purchase and transfer of land in the notified special area.Urban development and housing department (UDHD) minister Nitish Mishra said the draft plan was notified following a decision taken at the 14th meeting of the Bihar Urban Planning and Development Board on July 31.With the notification, restrictions on land transactions in the township area have been removed with immediate effect, a move expected to accelerate development activities and attract investment in the proposed urban hub.The draft plan has been published in the official gazette, inviting objections and suggestions from the public and other stakeholders within 60 days. The govt will examine all representations before finalising the plan.Mishra described the project as a major step towards creating a planned and modern urban centre capable of meeting future housing and infrastructure needs. He said the township has been envisioned as a model of sustainable urban development with world-class infrastructure, better connectivity, environment-friendly planning and citizen-centric amenities.The minister said the initiative aligns with the state govt’s vision of building a modern and well-planned Bihar. He added that the notification would bring greater clarity and transparency to the planning process while promoting organised urban growth in the region.The govt, he said, remains committed to encouraging sustainable and planned urbanisation across the state. Officials expect the township project to emerge as a key growth centre and help meet the long-term residential, commercial and infrastructure requirements of the Patna metropolitan region.
