Kanpur: A leopard allegedly attacked goats tied in animal enclosures in Gram Moosepura under the Lavedi police station area around 2.30 am on Monday, killing one goat and seriously injuring another.Livestock rearers Anuj Chauhan and Mahesh Kumar said the leopard entered their animal enclosures and attacked the goats. Hearing the animals’ cries, villagers rushed to the spot, preventing further casualties.This was not the first such incident. Two months ago, a leopard killed three goats in the same village. The repeated attacks have created fear among villagers, who are staying awake at night to protect their livestock.The forest department has appealed to villagers through loudspeaker announcements to keep their animals in secure enclosures at night.
