Hyderabad: Union coal minister G Kishan Reddy on Friday accused chief minister A Revanth Reddy of false propaganda in Kerala, alleging that claims of successful implementation of the Congress govt’s six guarantees were misleading. He also wrote to voters in Kerala, urging them not to trust these assurances.Addressing a press conference, Kishan Reddy said the guarantees had ‘completely failed’ and alleged that not a single scheme had been effectively implemented. He accused the Congress of projecting success without delivery. He questioned the status of key promises, including Rs 2,500 monthly assistance for women, enhanced pensions for the elderly and disabled, Rs 12 lakh support for Dalit families, and a Rs 1 lakh crore allocation for Backward Classes. He alleged that even Rs 20,000 crore had not been spent on BC welfare in a year. The senior BJP leader also flagged other promises such as gold for married daughters, free electric scooters, two lakh jobs for youth, and unemployment allowance, calling claims of their implementation “a bigger deceit” than non-implementation. ‘CM lacks credibility’Targeting the Congress campaign in Kerala, he alleged that both Congress and the Left had misled people, claiming the latter had stalled the state’s development for a decade. He also dismissed Revanth’s outreach in Kerala, saying it lacked credibility and would not translate into votes. Drawing parallels with the previous BRS govt, he said the current dispensation was following the same pattern of making promises without delivery. On the Bhadrachalam submerged areas’ issue, he said the problem stemmed from decisions taken during the Congress-led UPA regime, asserting that the BJP and the Centre had no role in it.‘Probe Kaleshwaram’He also demanded a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, saying the entire project must be investigated, not just select components. Referring to corruption allegations against BRS leaders before the elections, Kishan Reddy said the Congress had failed to act on its own promises of filing cases and recovering Rs 1 lakh crore. Accusing the Congress of shifting blame onto the BJP, he said it was the ruling party’s responsibility to fulfil its commitments to the people of Telangana.
