T’puram: BJP national executive committee member P K Krishnadas on Thursday called for the dismissal of the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) chairperson and members, alleging that PSC was attempting to cover up corruption. He said the govt should order a comprehensive and transparent probe into examinations, evaluation and appointments made by the commission over the past 10 years. The allegations, he said, had shaken the confidence of lakhs of candidates. He alleged that PSC was trying to defy a state information commission order directing it to hand over crucial documents related to an appointment in the planning board and was preparing to approach the high court against the RTI order. “What does PSC have to hide from the public and from job aspirants?” he asked.Krishnadas said that if the examinations conducted by PSC, valuation, preparation of rank lists and appointments were fully transparent, the commission had no reason to fear disclosure of records. He alleged that unprecedented irregularities and corruption had taken place in PSC during the 10 years of LDF’s term in office and that organized attempts were now being made to cover them up.Krishnadas also demanded that the reported decision to destroy answer sheets and question papers from 2017 to 2023 be cancelled immediately and all such records seized and preserved. He alleged that the corrupt system in PSC remained unchanged despite the change in govt and accused UDF of remaining indifferent while evidence was being destroyed.Meanwhile, Krishnadas said the party had not received any complaint regarding allegations of misappropriation of election funds by party functionaries, and that it was not obliged to respond to media reports on the issue.Krishnadas said state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar had already clarified the party’s stand on the controversy. Refusing to comment on the news reports, he said BJP had established internal mechanisms for workers to raise complaints. “At present, the party has not received any complaint in connection with the conduct of the assembly election. If any complaint is received, the party will definitely examine it,” he said.
