Varanasi: The Kashi Vishwanath Corridor’s transformation and improved connectivity have led to a significant surge in domestic and foreign tourists visiting Varanasi, making it a hotspot for hotel investments. As a result, investors are flocking to Kashi’s hotel industry, driving the development of a wide range of hotels, from budget-friendly options to luxurious 5-star and 7-star establishments.Abhishek Priyadarshi, deputy commissioner of the District Industries Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Centre, said that 10 hotels are operational in Varanasi with an investment of Rs 429 crore, employing over 600 people. 17 hotels are currently being built in Varanasi at Rs 778 crore, which is expected to boost the tourism and hospitality sector. Once completed, these hotels will create job opportunities for around 1,500 people, contributing to the local economyUnder GBC 4.0, 27 hotels were to be constructed in the district, with an estimated investment of Rs 1207 crore, offering jobs to approximately 2,110 people. Of these, 10 hotels are already welcoming guests. According to officials, Kashi is transforming into a vibrant global tourism and commercial hub, seamlessly blending its ancient religious heritage with modern development. The Uttar Pradesh govt’s proactive industrial policies and improved law and order situation have boosted investor confidence, attracting significant investment to the city.They said Varanasi is rapidly emerging as a major tourism and investment hub, driven by planned development, improved infrastructure, and growing tourist numbers. The city seamlessly blends spirituality, culture, and modern commerce, attracting visitors from across the globe. As a result, demand for top-notch facilities is soaring, making it an attractive spot for hotel investments.
