Bengaluru: To manage the rush during festivals next week, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate 2,000 additional buses across the state. Ugadi is on March 19 and Eid ul-Fitr is expected to be on March 20 or 21.The extra services will run on March 18-19-20, in addition to the existing schedules, for the benefit of passengers travelling from Bengaluru to various parts of Karnataka and neighbouring states. Most of the special services will operate from Kempegowda bus station, Majestic, to Dharmasthala, Kukke Subramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapur, Sringeri, Horanadu, Davanagere, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppal, Yadgir, Bidar, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Hyderabad.Additional buses will operate from Mysuru Road bus station towards Mysuru, Hunsur, Periyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalanagar and Madikeri.KSRTC said passengers can book tickets in advance through its website or reservation counters across Karnataka and neighbouring states. The corporation is offering 5% discount for bookings of 4 or more passengers on a single ticket and 10% discount on return journeys when onward and return tickets are booked together.
