Kanpur: The Kanpur police arrested a man accused of circulating and selling adult and child sexual abuse content online, officials said on Monday.The arrest followed a Child Sexual Exploitative and Abuse Material (CSEAM) report received from the Child Protection Unit (CPU) of the Govt of India, after which police conducted technical analysis and gathered electronic evidence to identify the suspect.The accused, identified as Noman, a resident of Jajmau in Kanpur Nagar, was taken into custody. Police said two mobile phones were recovered from his possession during the arrest. A digital examination of the devices reportedly revealed a large quantity of adult and child pornography videos, photographs, screenshots and other obscene material stored on both phones.Investigators said the accused allegedly shared such content and related links through multiple Telegram and Telegram X accounts, including groups and channels. Police further alleged he traded the material by selling videos online, charging between Rs 99 and Rs 150 per clip.During questioning, the accused allegedly admitted to transmitting the content for about three years and earning money through the activity. A case has been registered under Sections 66D, 67A and 67B of the Information Technology Act.
