A 30-year-old Shyam Sunder has been arrested by Lucknow police from Kanpur for allegedly making a hoax bomb threat targeting Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, triggering a high-security response and an extensive search operation by multiple security agencies.

Lucknow: Sarojini Nagar Police on Sunday arrested a 30-year-old man from Kanpur for allegedly making a hoax bomb threat targeting Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport.The accused has been identified as Shyam Sundar, a resident of Jaisinghpur in Kanpur.According to police, a bomb threat was received through the Dial-112 emergency helpline at around 11.45 pm on Friday, with the caller claiming that a bomb had been planted at Lucknow airport.Following the alert, security agencies launched a search operation. Bomb disposal squads, dog squads, fire brigade personnel, CISF personnel and other emergency responders rushed to the airport and carried out an anti-sabotage operation.

However, no suspicious object or explosive material was found, and the threat was later declared a hoax.Police later traced the mobile number to Kanpur and arrested the accused.Sub-Inspector Nishu Chaudhary said a case had been registered against the accused.He said that during questioning, the accused, a Class XI dropout, claimed that he was drunk when he made the call. Further investigation is underway.
