Ranchi: The need to integrate teachers with modern educational systems and technology took centre stage at the first annual conclave of the Jharkhand State Faculty Development Academy (JSFDA), established under the department of higher and technical education, on Friday.Chief guest and veteran academician P Kandaswamy praised JSFDA for its rapid rollout of development programmes covering gender sensitisation, mental well-being, and linguistic skills. He urged the teaching fraternity to expand these initiatives further, aligning student empowerment with the broader ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission.Rahul Kumar Purwar, principal secretary and JSFDA chairman said, “Jharkhand’s youth power constitutes the state’s greatest asset, and it is imperative to empower them with the right direction and skills.Teachers should assume the role of not merely providers of knowledge, but also that of mentors and nation-builders.”The conclave featured intensive deliberations on the roadmap for National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in classrooms, with experts emphasising that technology should assist rather than replace human instruction.Discussions also pivoted toward leveraging Jharkhand’s vast biodiversity and mineral wealth to foster entrepreneurship. Key recommendations included strengthening digital infrastructure, enhancing research publications, and reinforcing student counselling systems.The winners of the logo design competition organized by the JSFDA were also felicitated on the occasion.The conclave featured intensive deliberations on the roadmap for NEP 2020 and the integration of AI in classrooms
