Ranchi: State police headquarters has provided additional 10,400 personnel to the districts to ensure peace during Eid and Sarhul on Saturday. Police said that sensitive districts, including Ranchi, Hazaribag and Giridih, have been provided with a large number of security forces.Inspector general (operation) and Jharkhand Police spokesman Michael Raj said, “The districts have been provided with 5,000 policemen and 5,400 home guards. They have been asked to take necessary actions to maintain law and order during the festivities.”Ranchi district administration is also geared up to keep vigil at the worship places during namaaz on occasion of Eid and ensure smooth movement of Sarhul processions and the traffic in Ranchi on Saturday.On Friday, Ranchi sub-divisional officer Kumar Rajat and superintendents of police including Paras Rana, Praveen Pushkar and Rakesh Singh along with police force took out a flag march on the main road and other parts of the city to send a message that administration is prepared to ensure peace during the festivals.The district administration has also issued an order stating that as many as 25 patrolling parties led by magistrate and police officers and five bike teams would keep watch on different parts of the city during the festivals.The order stated that a senior officer would monitor the districts’ composite control room in the city adding there would be several reserve officers. The Bundu sub-divisional officer was asked to operate a sub-control room in his area. The block development officers, circle officers and the police station in-charge would be responsible for law and order in their areas, it said.Officials said that the city area has been divided into four zones, adding each of them would be under charge of magistrate and a deputy SP rank officer.The fire extinguisher vehicles would also be posted at various places of the city, including the district control room, Nagri bazaar, Hurhuri, Itki bazaar, Ekra Masjid, Darji mohallah, Kathitand chowk, Badagi more, Kanke chowk, Kanta Toli chowk, and Albert Ekka chowk. Medical teams along with ambulance would also be deployed at a number of places in the city.
