Gumla: Simdega police have arrested nine suspected affiliates of the banned PLFI during a raid carried out at different places. The accused were identified as Justin Topno, 31, Herman Topno, 24, Karan Lohra, 23, Karan Lohra, 22, Amit Kumar, 41, Sidhant Kumar Chik Baraik, 26, Dinesh Barwa, 19, Mangal Topno, 22, and Ashish Minj, 29. They hail from Simdega, Khunti and Ranchi districts, police said.Police said that on the intervening night of Jan 25 and 26, criminals had tried to torch vehicles and machinery belonging to a private construction company engaged for a road project from Lachragarh to Odga. Police registered a case and a team led by SDPO Baiju Oraon was constituted. Simdega SP Shrikant S Khotre said on Friday, “Of the nine, seven had past criminal history. Ten mobile phones have also been seized.”TNN
